We started where a lot of parents start: watching our own kids burn through a year of curriculum in a few months, then get pulled back into formation. We saw what happens when a child gets the right tool and the right person at the right moment — they don’t just learn faster, they become someone. And we refused to keep letting the system undo it.

So we’re building the school we wished existed. We are builders, and the people we admire most are builders. We want our children — and yours — taught by people who make things, point every modern tool at one outcome, and expect a child to outgrow the adults who built the place.

If we’re going to spend our money, our time, and the rest of our lives on anything, it’s helping children get the education they actually deserve.

Why Telluride

Because the mountain is part of the curriculum, not a distraction from it. Because a calendar built around real family life — skiing, travel, rest — is a feature, not a compromise. And because a small town is the right scale for a school that knows every child by name.

The longer arc

The Telluride School is the first. The model — best-in-class software for the academic spine, extraordinary humans for everything that matters most — is meant to travel to a small number of places we love and want to live. We’re starting with one cohort, done exceptionally well, and earning the right to do the next one.

What we are not

• A traditional private school with a slightly nicer brochure.
• A daycare with a logo.
• A place where your child is slowed to match a worksheet built for the average.
• A teacher-replacement experiment. There is always a human in the loop.

And, said plainly: the most important job in a family is not one to delegate — not to us, not to anyone. We hope to be the partner some families choose.
